How I'd make the world a better place. Hypothetically.
I read this week that April is everything January wished it could be and good lord, isn’t that the truth! Spring is the true restart of the year and I am feeling it! Not that I have any control here - if I did, I’d get rid of the whole daylight savings thing in a MF heartbeat - but if we could readjust our New Years celebrations, bumping them out to April, I would be in full support. Seasonal living, baby.
If I may, here’s what else I’d change: Thanksgiving and Christmas are too close together. Especially if you’re trying to plan celebrations with several sides of the family - I have wound up having Thanksgiving and the next weekend having a family Christmas and it’s like, I literally just saw you guys? And we’re also basically eating the same meal?
So, I need something to look forward to in January. I’d bump Christmas out to end of January. Better shot at a white Christmas anyway, at least where I live, and that’s ideal. Then bump NYE to end of March. I still want a week off for both, obviously. Imagine starting fresh with a new year in alignment with the actual earth starting fresh. Wow, it’s almost like it’s supposed to be that way!
And finally, since I’m overseeing the calendar, I’d officially make Friday part of the weekend, creating a 4-day work week, and make it illegal to obligate anyone to check their email outside of business hours. Please vote for me for president.
But first, some housekeeping: there’s some affiliate links in here. But aren't they everywhere? Anyway, if you click on something and buy it, I might earn a commission at no cost to you.

Literally nothing new! I’m still on Table for Two, which I’m trying to savor after absolutely crushing A Gentleman in Moscow. But mostly, I’ve been obsessively watching the White Lotus and/or reading White Lotus theories online. It’s like I have no attention span for other fiction right now. I swear though, after the finale this weekend, I gotta really get into a book. I will be referencing this list of surefire books.

I’m on a pink sneaker kick // My coworker, who is also my friend and that detail feels integral because I’m about to be a Jaclyn to her Laurie if Valentin was a pair of shoes. Anyway, she recently got these pink sneakers that I have been coveting. I asked her, and then I asked the internet, and all agreed it’s not that weird if I also get pink sneakers. Just maybe not the same exact ones (duh!). I like these, these and these.
I wouldn’t say that I’m a Vera Bradley gal, but I could see myself toting this baby around a farmers market. Sprigs of something green aesthetically peeking out of the top?
Sephora’s tiered sale is back, and honestly, big freaking whoop. 10% off is nothing to get that excited about and I don’t get why the internet falls all over itself for this, but for holy grails that I keep stocked anyway, I might as well collect my small discount. I try to bulk order to maximize. I refer to this list.
Hello! Did anyone else see the kate spade x Target collaboration dropping on 4/12? These earrings look so fun!

And if you enjoyed today’s newsletter, would you consider subscribing? I aim for one newsletter a week on Friday morning, so if I may be so bold, it’s a lovely treat for you inbox, just before the weekend.
I just have to say your humor was really top notch this week, LOL'd several times. Particularly over the "why is everyone falling over themselves" comment re: the Sephora "sale". PREACH! I get fooled every time this sale comes around and I see all the posts about it.. I get excited thinking it's something worthwhile and then.. womp womp.
ooh I was just in a vera bradley store and I ran my hands longingly over that tomato tote!
