A few things I enjoyed recently and maybe you will too.
Alright! Fall is swooping in. It was a crisp 48º this morning. School is back in sesh. I’m talking to clients from the carline. I saw someone wearing Uggs at the grocery store. I don’t like being rushed into this season, but once it’s actually here and not being forced upon me artificially in August, I enjoy it very much. It’s a small pocket you know, when the mornings are cool and the afternoons are hot, and you need shorts and sweatshirts and sandals and socks, all in the same day.
I took the week off, burning up a week of precious PTO for a staycation and it was the best. A good day for me is equal parts productive + reading on the couch, so I power cleaned one day, spackled and painted some holes in the walls another day, and read the entire stack of magazines that have been collecting since June. Oh and this is important, I picked the week my kiddos started school, so I was home alone all week. Moms, you know what I mean.
How’s your week been? LDW really does feel like the end of summer and the start of something new, even if the weather does mostly feel the same. There’s just a shift, you know?
But first, some housekeeping: there’s some affiliate links in here. But aren't they everywhere? Anyway, if you click on something and buy it, I might earn a commission at no cost to you.

Reading
I’m passionate about reading and sharing books that are readily available at your library and don’t feature a waitlist 47 people long. So these are rarely new, hot releases, but if you’re intrigued, there’s a good chance for instant gratification at your library.
Happy-Go-Lucky by David Sedaris // I’m a little behind in reading books, so this is a duplicate. I’m still working on this book of essays, which has a freaky clown cover that makes it appropriate to recommend come Halloween. It’s also largely about his time in NY during the pandemic, which probably freaks some people out just as much as the clown.
Shopping
⭐ Target Navy Blue Satin PJ Set - Pants, Cami, and Robe // I am a sucker for matching pajamas. Imagine it - an evening shower and slipping on a complete set that makes you feel put together even though your hair looks like a wet rat. This is the kind of peace I’m looking for everyday.
Beetles Gel Nail Polish in Lapis Blue // I have a very similar color in a non-gel formula, which is fine, but I prefer a quick dry time + long lasting manicure, so I invested in a gel version.
Related: Here’s the UV light I use for DIY at home gel manicures. Has paid for itself a million times over - I haven’t gotten a salon manicure since before the pandemic. Also,if you don’t do the gel thing, here’s the Sally Hansen not-gel version.
Aerie Cloud Fleece // The season for living in pajamas is nigh. I’ve got my eye on this matching crewneck and trousers, or when I’m feeling fancy, this matching skort to swap in.
A few things I’m eyeing for fall: these Adidas socks that shall disguise my millennial-ness (lololol SIKE!). Is it too early to talk outerwear? What if it is has a great retro stripe? For fall and anytime, I love the Italian Summer Charm necklace + everything else at this LuckyBananaNugget etsy shop.

Lol sob sigh.
I come back to this poem from Lyndsay Rush frequently -
3 Things
Food kinks lately.
Kale Salad // Not fancy and not consistent because basically I just sub in whatever I have. Ideally, it’s shredded kale tossed with feta, red onions, olives, tomatoes, olive oil and vinegar. Salt, pepper, zjush, done. If I’m missing any of those things, it doesn’t matter, as long as I’m not missing all of those things.
SToK Cold Brew Bright & Mellow + Nut Pods Pumpkin Spice Cream // The brands are important and others cannot be subbed in for the same effect. It somehow tastes like chocolate milk. I don’t even like pumpkin spice, but this is transfixing.
AG1 // My husband was talked into a subscription by Joe Rogan, who he hilariously argues is not an influencer, and yet, he was influenced. He drank it for maybe month before forgetting about it and thus, we’ve been accumulating envelopes of the stuff for months. It’s spendy, so I swooped in to cancel the subscription and decided to drink the surplus myself. I’m not sure I would order it again, but in the meantime, I don’t hate having the morning ritual.
Sending You on Your Way
(Interesting things I found on the internet this week)
⭐ Table for one! This is on my “romanticize your life” list - going out for a solo lunch instead of grocery shopping or running errands on my lunch break is a true treat.
I want to dress like a Nora Ephron character from

Last Week - In case you missed it:
Celebrating the lead up to a long weekend. The ability to hear Lilo’s voice just from a picture of my favorite summer movie. The sales that got me. A few really good political history reads.

Ahhh another victim of Athletic Greens! Good to know I'm not alone.
Love your anklets in the first picture! Such a vibe.
